Default how to get started tuning

As someone who has only owned my s2k for 9 (incredible) months, I still have a lot to learn about it. Recently I have been reading countless articles and watching hundreds of videos on different things that people have done to their s2k's, and it just makes me want more and more to start tuning mine, and getting more out of it. But, I struggle because I am not someone with a whole lot of mechanical knowledge, hardly any to be fair, so I just don't think i can do many of the big upgrades myself. Also I just don't have the time or resources to do them either. Being only 20 years old, and still in school, money is definitely a big obstacle as well, however, I feel it would be easier for me to just have a little bit of patients and work my butt off to save up money not only to buy the upgrades, but to pay someone to install them. But, then the issue of "who?" comes in. I have no idea who or where I would take it to to have upgrades put in. If anyone has any advice on this matter, it would be greatly greatly appreciated. Lastly, I want to know where I should start with upgrades. I already put in an Invidia Q300 cat-back in myself, but besides that, everything els is stock. Iv been told to do a cold air intake next but I want to get the forums opinion. Any advice is appreciated thank you.

I can relate to you. But the question is... what is your goal? For me, I'd like to keep my s2000 as close to OEM as possible.

Im still thinking about what I want my ultimate goal to be. I definitely want more performance, and body wise I just want it repainted right now (road chips in the front)

The OEM computer should handle what you have safely.

"Tuning" beyond adding a K&N or AEM intake requires re-configuring the car's computer. How that's done depends on what year car you have. Cars before 2006 require piggyback computers to remain road/smog legal; 2006 and later "drive by wire" cars can be re-calibrated with the Honda FlashPro. Neither solution is inexpensive and will run you about $1000 for hardware and software.
