why would you want it super bright at night? it's supposed to dim because you don't need as much light to see the cluster in the dark...

also, having such a bright light will reduce your ability to make out details in the darkness.

Yeah I really wish the AP1 cluster would remember to stay on bright all the time.
I did the F1 gauge mod thing so a little dimmer now than before so always need to hold it down to brighten it up during the day. At night definitely don't need it any brighter.

It's usefull if you drive on a very bright day with your lights on. I am glad Honda included it.

I replaced my front marker light bulbs with PIAA bright white LEDs. They work very well for day time running lights but if you don't switch your cluster illumination to "day time" then it is hard to see the cluster.

It's still a bit annoying switching it back and forth though. I may some day rig the front marker lights to turn on with the ignition. i should be able to use a wire as a jumper in the fuse box... This would also be nice because I don't like to use full bright in day time or night time modes, I use "3 clicks" down from full on both. You don't have the option of dimming if your lights are on and your cluster is set to "daytime" mode.

I always turn my headlights on, and during the day I hold the plus for full illumination so I can actually read the cluster with sunglasses on.

Night time I leave it dimmed with headlights on

MY 00 is steady at the brightest setting for the cluster...just like everyone else is saying hold down the + button and it will store it in the memory and thereafter everytime you start your car...if not then there is either a short or something wrong with the electrical connection going to that area
