to replace fully functioning lights out for ap2 model's is a lot of money that could otherwise be put towards lighter rims, nitrous, gears, a used supercharger kit, etc...
Yep. Everyone has the same goals. That was an informative answer to the question.

OP: You could find deals online. I've found TONS of deals in the S2KI marketplace. People do sell used AP2 complete headlights for like $800-1K.

If you're smart about selling your stock parts, you can come out only having spent a few hundred. If you think that a few hundred is worth it for headlights and tail lights, then go for it.

I would have had a hard time justifying spending so much on heads/tails...but the way it worked out for me was a blessing.

i like AP1 headlights actually, to me it's the "original" S2000 look. You can clear the corners and everything... but that's just my opinions

I want more power, why don't I just buy a Lambo? Well, bad analogy, but I'm sure there's a lot of reasons why he wants an AP1. Higher redline? Cheaper? Preference?

in another thread he stated he only wanted to spend 13k or under on an ap1. if hes going to do a full exterior conversion, why not just toss out the extra money up front and get an ap2?

There's advantages to an AP1. I like the driving experience better.

Plus, the steering rack in the AP2 really really turns me off. I think I could get over the lower rev limit, but the AP2's steering really sucks IMO.

I guess that you could swap in an AP1 rack pretty easily, though.

I'll also agree that there are probably more reasons to buy the AP2 than to buy the AP1.
