Default to Injen or not to ...

I picked up a MY 01 last summer and finally getting into some modding. I'm considering a new Injen 2 piece CAI but haven't found any prsuasive data on the site.

I have read that they are definately loud, potential for hydrolock and somewhat complicated to install but any other info-esp. on gains or pos or negs would be helpful.

I have one. I think it was quite easy to install. It also looks great, and sounds great

Save money and worry...just get a knock-off Spoon snorkle off ebay. The stock box is really very good...just needs a cold air source.

I have the injen in box and ready to go. Just not sold on it yet. I want some growl without waking the neighbors. not expecting huge gains but any is good.

snorkle is interesting. do you have to mod the airbox to make the connection and is fitment an issue behind the bumper? I really don't want to start hacking to make fit.

Love the sound of intake... There's a slight increase in throttle response and small bump in torque (past 3500 rpm) and hp

I have an Injen on my 01. No real power gain but the sound is amazing. I can hear the intake about my exhaust in VTEC and I have an Invidia exhaust. Easy to install, I say do it!

if you live in california, i would suggest the AEM V2. probably the same as injen, but AEM is carb legal. looks and sounds fantastic too!

good luck on what you decide on buddy.
