Intake pipe through the air pump side
So for the longest time I've always wondered why no one runs their intake to the air pump side? Moving the coolant overflow, cruise and already having the air pump removed isn't that big of a problem for the most of us. Everyone always talking about heat soaking with the intake. If the intake pipe went to the air pump side, theres no heat close by and that would be the best gains right? I took this pic from someone here so hope they don't mind. AND DON'T MIND THE TURBO. Just want to show what I'm talking about with the intake pipe going to the air pump side.
I think quite the opposite is true. I believe the majority of S2000 owners DON'T have cruise control removed/relocated coolant overflow/removed air pump. Yes, that idea would work better, but Im sure manufacturers route cold air intakes to other side to not be invasive as routing it to air pump side.
There isn't really much room in there between the back of the headlights and the tire/fender liner. The tube would have to be flatten a bit to even squeeze that through that hole and out where the air pump sits.
How does everyone run their intercooler piping? I'm guessing I won't be trying to fit a 3in intake in there
