Default Invidia Exhaust Question?

My bf recently bought an Invidia Exhaust for his AP1. He installed it and a week after he installed it, he took it to 6k and the car just bogged down and didnt go anywhere. It never did that before he had the exhaust. He thinks it could be because there isnt enough back pressure? Has anyone had this issue or know what it could be? Thanks.

I'm Ron Burgandy?

It's not related to the exhaust. An engine suffering from lack of back pressure from a free-flowing exhaust would not result in that noticeable of a power loss. Also, it seems that all of Invidia's products have a history of increasing power, if only slightly.

Was your boyfriend excited and did he try to hit VTEC while the car was not warmed up? The car has a fuel cut to protect the engine from, um, those that need it.

No he was merging onto a highway and the car was fully warmed up. It happened a week after he put it on. The car ran fine for a week and then all of a sudden this happened. So the car wont go over 6k now.

This problem has nothing to do with a cat back exhaust.

make sure he checks the oil level, and is sure the car is warmed up. sounds like cold rev cut.

In any case, as others have said, nothing to do with the exhaust.

check the oil. if there's not much oil in there, it's going to run like shit.

i've owned many invidia exhausts, i think 4, and never had any issues, other than going def, and getting pulled over.

cold rev cut or low oil like he said...both will stop vtec. check the oil asap and get back to us. there's other options such as vtec solenoid going bad but oil and cold are the first culprits ususally.

it's not the exhaust. you could run the car with no exhaust if you really wanted to. It'd smell like hell and blow your ears out, but you could do it.
