^^i would. i planned on getting that header with the HPC coating. i think that's a pretty good price for the addition of that coating.

aww i like the idea of shiny stuff under my hood, but if the hypercoating can prevent issues due to heat i guess i'll have to suck it up

the only aftermarket headers that allow you to use the heatshield are the Mugen and Rick's. so i'd think it would be fine, but of course keeping underhood temps down is always more desirable.
I was not referring to the heat shield on the header it's self but, the black heat shield that protects the A/C lines, battery, and fuse box.
This heat shield can be used with all after market header's except the Invidia as far as I know.

well when i buy the berk header should i dish out the extra 80$ for the hypercoating?

The ceramic coating is a very good investment, it works. I use header wrap and like it a little better than the coating. I have used both and the wrap seem to work best.

With the Jet coat

well money is tight, so should i get the stainless steel and heat wrap it with something i could buy at advanced auto parts or is the hypercoating THAT effective in heat reduction?

there are only 2 header brands that are designed to hold heat shield, soo
