If you want something with a good tone and not to loud the fujitsubo legalis R is a good choice!
Compared to the N1, it is very tame!!!!

There are different versions of the Q300 (varies by year). I don't know what exactly the differences are, but maybe the tone and/or volume has changed over the years.

Plus; rasp, volume, tone, etc. are extremely subjective.....

Well to be fair I haven't actually heard the N1 in person, but if the OP is looking for a nice tone and something that isn't too loud, I don't think the q300 fits that criteria. It is still very loud in my opinion. Still I do love the noise it produces but I do wish it was a litter quieter. In terms of drone it has got some, not enough to make me go crazy but its definitely there.

I love my Q300 and I personally think it's perfect, but I have yet to hear the N1 in person.

Q300 get's a good bit louder with a test pipe. Drone may go down a little but over all noise will go up. The exhaust also get's a decent amount of raspyness to it with a test pipe. I think they sound much better with a HFC than a test pipe but those cost more and gains are slightly less.

Has anybody tried to squeeze the OEM exhaust for power? My car (nissan, turbo) has the OEM exhaust on it still, it measures almost but not quite 1.5" diameter, and I Put down 265rwhp from a stock sr20det engine. It is whisper quiet but there is no cat of course.

It just seems a shame to add noise where there need be none.

Then again, it depends on which Q300 version you got. Everyone says my Q300 dual is quiet.

Are you wanting to know about modding an s2k exhaust or the exhaust on your Nissan?

For the s2k, there is the UK exhaust mod.

I'm not a turbo expert, but wouldn't you benefit from something wider?

I understand not wanting your car to be stupid loud, but the appropriate tone just seems right on a sports car.

I guess that's true. I'm actually not sure which version I have, all I know is that it quiet loud. My exhaust has burnt tips if that gives away which version it is? Not too sure if that helps..

I'd recommend the Q300 as well, especially if you're on a budget.

Will the Q300 connect to my Berk 63.5mm high flow cat?
