i put an invidia on mine too. i didnt throw any code at all. however i noticed that inside the o2 hole, there was a tiny piece of catylic converter directly in front of where the sensor bulb is when installrd. i have had this on for over 10k miles. call and talk to Li at Evasive, he can help you out if you want to go this way.

Are there any negatives to having the CEL on besides not passing smog?

I would assume poor gas mileage. Also if there are other components that need to be addressed and the vehicle let's you know via CEL, then you won't know because its constantly lit due to the TP.

I would also think it would get annoying looking at the CEL on the dash. That's just me though.

your o2 sensor can also read low in which it would throw a code, too many defowlers and such can cause this... noticed it a few times floating around honda-tech. Dont quote me on it as fact, but others said they had to use different sizes drilled out to get the right flow.

I have the same issue. Non-foulers didn't work for me. I called Invidia and they are supposed to be sending me an adpater/spacer to take care of it, for free of course. They did say they had limited supply and would be sending more out when they receive their next shipment, which could be a while with what happened overseas.

As of now, the CEL is not causing any other issues. I plan on getting the codes read once a week to ensure nothing else is occuring. I have not had any performance or mileage issues with my CEL on all the time.

It took 3 spark plug non foulers on my 06 and no check engine lights for the last 9 months. (Invidia 60mm test pipe)
