Izzy Front Brackets or OEM Front Latches or Alloy Craft Brackets/Locks for Hardtop?
#11
I have had all 3. Ran oem hardtop hardware for years, they had a tendency to make noise over bumps. I never take my hardtop off so the easy removal process wasn't appealing to me, plus oem hardtop theft became a huge issue a few years back. Replaced the oem hardware with izzy race brackets (don't have a soft top). No complaints from those. The noises were eliminated and I felt more secure knowing that the hardtop took a decent amount of time to remove. Alloy craft released their hardtop locks so I bought them. I am really happy with them as well. It was just one more security feature.
If you plan to remove your hardtop often, oem is the way to go. If you intend on running the hardtop most of the time, go with either the izzy brackets or either of alloy craft's brackets.

It really depends on a few things.
First is how often do you plan to remove the top? If the answer is fairly often then I strongly suggest OEM latches.
Second is do you garage your car or is it out and therefore some added security is needed? If this is the case stop worrying about hardware and start worrying about getting a garage.
Personally I love the ease that I can take my hardtop on and off my car since we have a great summer here in Seattle but the rest of the year it is rainy. It is nice when there is a nice day I can just pop my hardtop off and go and not mess with all the hardware. It does creak and rattle some but there is adjustments to help cut down on this. It just really depends on how much quickly you want to be able to take the hardtop off and go.

So if wanting to stay OEM and eliminate noise... one needs the OEM "Hard Top" Front Latches, and the OEM "Hard Top" Front Strikers? Does anyone have specific part numbers handy for these hard-top-specific parts?

OEM Hard Top Front Latches are 85100-S2A-901 (Right) and 85150-S2A-901 (Left)

I am getting Forbidden's OEM Rear Hardware...for my Hardtop
Should I go for Izzy Front Brackets or OEM Front Latches (CR OEM Front Latches)
Also if I do get the OEM Front Latches, do I need the shims for the striker for the Hardtop?
Thanks! I am also thinking about using the heel toe locks if I get the OEM setup!
Thanks!!!
