Default Jaguar-esque pulsating starter button mod?

Hey all,

Just had a (What i think to be) cool idea while watching an old episode of TG over the weekend. The Jag in that episode they were reviewing had a pulsating starter button, like a heartbeat. I have been wanting to mod the starter button to make the light brighter, and thought that'd be a really cool addition.

Any ideas as to how I'd do that? Any relays or whatever out there that could be programmed to pulsate like that?

Edit, found this video tutorial. Seems a bit ridiculous with all that wiring. Any electrical gurus know of a way to make this work easier?

Also, there are "fading led eyes" kits on ebay and whatnot, but nothing that goes in the "ba dum" rhythm.

Seems like a lot of work for almost no benefit, it's barely noticeable and for the small amount of time one takes in starting the car I can't see it being very noticeable on our cars.

Well, there is no "benefit" in mind. I am switching out the LED for a brighter one, and just thought that'd be a nice little touch to add. If I ever try it, I'll post up a video. Might be one of those "bored, rainy day" kind of modifications.

Are you doing a write up for switching out the LED? I would be interested in that.

It almost looks like the type of flicker that indicates an electrical problem.
