Default J's Front Lip

So I just installed the J's half lip on the car this weekend. Love the new look. Had a couple of issues and need suggestions to solve the problems. I have an AP1 so I had to cut out the black vents. Not an issue. I went and did a test fit and it went on fine. Now it was time to take it off to place the 3M tape and start securing. The lip wouldn't come off. it was stuck. I didn't want to force it off the bumper, to avoid any cracking of the lip and paint. So I put the tape on the lip and started to secure the lip. There is about a quarter inch gap on the upper part of the lip. Not sure if the weather was to cold or not, but the J's lip is not securing to the tape which is now stuck on the stock bumper. Even tried heating up the tape and lip with a heat gun. The lip is secure with 2 self taping screws on each side of the wheel well.

Any suggestions in securing the lip to the bumper?

If possible unbolt the bumper cover from the undertray. This way you can reach behind the cover and force it to contact the lip where needed. I don't have the J's lip, but this has been helpful on other lip styles. Also make sure all contact points are degreased, cleaned and stripped of wax. Use the 3M primer/adhesive promoter made specifically for their tape on high stress or stubborn parts. Sorry I don't have the part # handy, but this stuff really works wonders.
Good luck!

pics will be up. i didnt have an oem lip on it. everything was cleaned with soap, water and alcohol wipes to remove anything on the back side of the j's lip and the oem bumper. the lip was bought from next mod (new sponsor on the site). i was thinking of raising the front end of the car, and pressing the oem bumper to the lip when the weather gets warmer. thanks everyone for thier input and assistance.
