Default Js Racing 60rs Fitment

Tried to get the exhaust installed on my 06. Ran into the notorious fitment issue where it's hitting the exhaust tunnel. What are my options besides putting a dent on the car?

Very curious about this as well. I was looking into getting a J's exhaust for my Ap2 06, but hesitated b/c of the fitment issues i've read about which seem to be similar what your experiencing.

I emailed Ms J's racing (dealer) about this not too long ago and she mentioned those with fitment issues made adjustments to the hangers (modifying the hanger placements).

Is it a single or dual?

It’s a single and I was able to get an exhaust shop to slightly bend a piece of the metal tab that holds the reinforcement bar to get clearance for the muffler. Also got them to put some washers when bolting up the reinforcement bar for additional clearance. After that, they were able to adjust the part of the exhaust that was hitting the actual exhaust tunnel. I don’t think it’s possible to make it fit just by modifying the hangers. I think it would be possible to prevent the muffler from hitting the reinforcement bar but not the piping that hits the chassis by modifying only the hangers.

good luck. The exhaust sounds amazing and is worth it. There’s some drone during engine braking and in the 3k-5k range. However, it has a nice rumble at idle and VTEC is very prominent inside the cabin and out.

We meet again my fellow J's lover I am glad you're enjoying the epic tone and feel. Speaking of feel, how does your car feel now in terms of power and response? Did you reset your ECU after installing the exhaust?

About that reinforcement bar or exhaust support brace - I also used two extensions/washers that I believe may have come with my single exit FX70RS but it wasn't hitting the tunnel even before those were used. It just needed that added bit of clearance between the big pipe and the reinforcement bar and then I was good to go.

OP: enjoy your exhaust too
