Default Just installed: Carbon fiber Shift boot w/red stit

So i decided to replace my oem boot on my s2000, i have about a dozen of shift knob and by swapping one every other week i end up rubbing the top finish off the oem fake leather boot.

I ordered the boot from lighting auto custom in ebay
(http://stores.ebay.com/Lightning-Auto-Customs), they didn't make the exact fit for our car so i end up getting the 01+ civic shift boot.(DC5 RSX boot will fit too)

After shipping I paid about 30 buck, which is pretty decent price consider most piece on the market are 40-50 buck. It came with a rubber boot stop, zip tie, a key chain, a pen, a coupon flyer, a decal and 2 page of installation guide. Shipping took less than a week, i received my tracking number as soon as they posted the item via usps.(i have no connection with the store btw ;P)

Here some pictures of the product(the knob is a counter sunk TWM leopard model)

a tad longer than our oem boot

3 sections vs oem 4 sections

as you can see in the picture, the civic boot is around 7/8 inch longer than our boot, so i trim down the "skirt" and then i cut some hole with an exacto knife for the boot to slip into the oem chrome piece. The after market boot has three sections instead of four sections, it doesn't really change anything in term of fitments just in case you wonder.

The over all shape is very close to oem fitments, the oem is slightly slimmer on top vs the one i have now. The rubber boot stop work great with our tapered shifter shaft, i didn't use the zip tie since the rubber piece sits pretty firm without it.
I really like how the rubber piece stops the jam nut/lower part of the knob from rubbing against the boot.

that's all

Looks good, but a little... 'stiff' I guess. Do you know if it loosens up and becomes softer/more flowing after time?

that's a good question, ill post back within a week or two.

I just gotten it install like 15 minutes ago

the material is actually softer than my oem boot, i guess 8year under the socal sun dries it up.
