Default K20/ K24 swap?

Hey guys,

Have a s2k track car i bought in Cali and brought back to Jamaica.
Currently have the F22C in it, but want to run in another class, which i need a 2ltr.

The F20/F22s are hard to find in Jamaica, and are hard to make NA power...

Has anyone done a K20 or B20 swap in a S2000?

Would you guys recommend?
I know the Ks dont make the best of torque.

I am also lightening it alot- with our goal weight to be 2200lbs with me in it.

Help!

Here's pics

It was the SpeedVentures S2k from Cali.

There are some K swaps around. Probably would do that over a B.

Ballade Sports makes a kit actually. Kinda pricey though. https://www.balladesports.com/produc...k2024-swap-kit

Might be better to get a F20C and having it prepped and shipped.

Ideally 2 so you can rotate maintenance and reduce downtime

To make it easy, I would stick with an F20. Although squeezing out power with these is more difficult than a k series, they're really good motors. Maybe an option to consider is finding a longblock here on s2ki and seeing if you can maybe get it shipped to Jamaica?

As far as K series go, I love them. I wouldn't worry too much about the torque but to me their powerbands are really strong in the midrange. I dont know if it was the gearing of the cars I experienced, or maybe the mods, but I have always felt like the k20's (with full vtec like a2's, z's, etc., not just intake vtec) are very stout motors. There is a lot of n/a power to be made with them, and easier power compared to F series motors. At least, in my opinion.

You could always go F24-F25 with your current motor.

She said the whole point of a swap was to get into a different class that requires 2 liters of displacement (or less, I assume). Kinda would defeat the purpose.

The f20 is by all means a great motor. To get more power out of it is pretty hard though, Honda has almost maxed it out from the factory, the k series motors definitely have more room to grow but of course that comes with a price. Ballade sports has done it and offer a kit for kswaps

Hmmmm...

Are there any good links on a good F20 NA Build on here that you guys would recommend?

The K swap is pricey... and may not be worth it.

Can you really make that much more power with a 2.0 K-series? Also what about the engine weight? What about durability?

Considering Honda makes a perfect engine that is 2.0 liters and drops right in, it seems that would be the way to go.
