thats the link to the article

i was thinking about trying this out. Has anyone else on this forum done this?? it would save a lot of money installing the final drive from a Kia suv vs. a s2000 one.... i found them online for around 400 bucks compared to 1500 for the s2000 one.

This has been discussed here for sometime.

Also 1500 for 4.77 gears? perhaps if they were gold plated. They go for about 400 as well.

research this gear swap before you commit. the regular kia gear has been argued about the strength of the gear.

do you have experience installing final drives? if not i would suggest taking it to someone that is well versed in setting up rears.

I can vouch for Bradskee, got my kia 4.77s from him and they are running great.

You'll also need the Installation parts, Hardtopguy sells them for $150

I also agree with taking it to someone if youve never done rear ends before. I had a friend who was a rear end specialist do mine, that I helped with, and as its not THAT complicated, definitely something the average joe wouldnt want to dive into, and if they did, they would probably get the settings wrong, and it would whine.

But it isnt rocket science either..
