Default Koni vs. Coilovers

I'm trying to figure out which would be a better option. Getting Koni's to go with my Eibach springs or a cheep set of coilovers, or possibly stick with what I have. The S is a weekend car with mostly spirited driving. What are your thoughts?

What are you looking to do? Just more drop? Replace worn out shocks?

The Konis are great shocks, but a little soft in compression for my style of driving. They will ride a bit softer than the oem shocks so long as you don't have the rebound adjusted to full stiff.

If I were to get another set of Konis, I would definitely get the autox valving they have for the s2k. I recall one vendor was selling the autox valved shocks as an option. Otherwise you have to send the shocks to a local Koni rebuilder to have the autox valving installed.

Some "cheap" coilovers to consider are: Bilstein PSS9; BC Suspension (check the group buy forum for a good deal on them); K-sport (check eBay).

I was debating the same thing a few months ago. I decided to spend a few hundred $$ more than springs + konis, and bought a used set of PSS9s instead. After installing and driving on them for a few months, I'm confident I made the right decision.

I ended up going with some coilovers.

I am in the same boat. I have Eibachs, but REALLY WANT PSS9s. I just haven't bought them yet.

I just got the Eibach/Koni combo(had the eibach springs since last september...Just recently purchased and installed the koni shocks about 2 week ago).

Went out on a canyon run and didn't feel an improvement over the stock shocks. Actually felt like I went a step down...Possibly due to slower/lower compression than the stock shocks.

So I decided to sell the springs and shocks and go with full coilovers. After searching for nearly a week, I have made up my mind on which ones I'm going with. Just need my friend to get me the money for my koni's so I can order my coilovers.
