the seal is heavy duty, in the 2nd pick you can see the middle piece that locks in the main body of the seal.

No, the seal is 100% glue free.

I just ordered a Forbidden U.S.A OEM style hardtop that comes with a "scratch resistant lexan window." I was considering the tint spray, but after seeing his experiment I think I will try my luck with the 5% Film. -It should be noted that he didn't say how hot it got during the 3 months he left it out in the elements. If it was summertime in Death Valley the test might have yielded different results.
