You want to spend $3400 on brakes...because they're lighter? This makes no sense for a street car.

For $3400, you could have bought a used SC kit and made more than enough power to overcome the weight issue.

You can delete the AC and sweat your balls off. Depending on how much your balls weigh, this could be significant. The AC itself will probably save you like 30-40lbs.

You could also remove the cruise (2-5lbs), replace the rubber hoses with silicone (0.5lbs?), get a header (10-15lbs), buy an intake (1lb), etc. etc. etc.

You'll have spent $thousands and you'll be very sweaty (AC), and unable to maintain a speed over large distances (cruise control). Your wallet will be lighter and you'll be lighter due to the sweating. There def. won't be a girl in the passenger seat...because girls don't like sweaty guys or being sweaty themselves. So...depending on the girl, that's like a 100-500lb savings. Plus, the added power from the intake/header setup. So...iduno...the car would probably go a little faster.

Or...again...take those $$ thousands, go F.I. and forget about the 50lb weight issue from removing all your equipment. You'll also have AC and CC and all the things that seperate us from the apes.

Why exactly are you obsessing over weight? What is the end goal?

about weight, you can take off a lot with a more with a single exhaust (15-20lbs?), test pipe (5lbs?) and taking out the spare tire (10lbs?)!

carbon fiber racing seats would also save tons of weight (20-30lbs?),

but then again, all that weight is more towards the rear.

for sure you can take out a lot of weight from the S2000 by changing out a few things, but as for the engine bay, you really can't remove much without sacrificing what Bserious mentioned!

ITB's will be the most weight you can shave from the front of the car in one piece, around 40-50 lbs.

I took the A/C out of my old (my07) S2000. I never had an issue with foggy glass.

I made a thread about taking the A/C out of the old car and I was amazed to see how many people went ape shit about it. I guess not everyone likes the feel of a lighter car and the idea of taking things out that you never use. Next summer I may rip it out of my current car.

well, i guess it depends where you live...

up here, in the cold west coast (Vancouver, BC/Seattle, WA), it rains a lot, and there's just so much moisture in the air sometimes, windows fog up, so i'd definitely keep A/C here..

all depends on location i guess

sounds like a plan!

personally, i couldn't live without it.. sometimes, in the summer heat, it's nice having A/C on when driving top down even... but i feel a bit bad frivolously using energy like that. Then again, i'm driving a 2-seater sports car, without a cat. at least i try to recycle more
