Default Looking for someone who has removed Exhaust Tips

I want to remove and change this 101 mm round tips and replace them with the stock AP2 tips. The tips that I have has pins that are welded on the pipe that is connected to the muffler. I will not cut these pipes since they are equally even and don't want to make things worse. Any suggestion will help or perhaps someone's done this before.

See attached photos.

Thanks
SS

How can you remove them if you dont want to cut or weld anything? Are you hoping there just slipped on?

I was referring to those pins, if there are ways to unweld them. Cutting the pipe where the tip is connected would be the last resort.

I don't think that they are welded. They look like they are riveted to me. Is the base of the pin visible inside the pipe? If so and if it is flattened, then it is riveted. In that case, you only need to carefully grind the head off of the rivet and punch the base out with a drift pin.

You could drill them out I guess or cut the head off like hecash said. I think the oem tips attach in a different way so they may need to be welded or the exhaust further modified for them to fit.

I'll probably just use a drill or a Dremel.
Now it's a matter of removing the mufflers... but at least that's all there is to it! Well, except for the hangers!

Thanks Gents!

Have you mesured the exhaust Outside Diameter there and the Inside Diameter of the OEM tips. Hate to see all this trouble if they won't fit.

^^yes this, also, the length might not work. It doesn't look like your exhaust piping would stick out very much, which could make your OEM tips sit too far in.

You need to do some careful planning and measuring before you start.

Could add some short filler pipe if needed. Clamp to back of muffler, just long enough to space stock tips out fat enough.

For the last three comments. I will definitely do some careful planning and measuring or else this whole thing can be a disaster.

But for now this is the answer. I got this metal bar from Home Depot and can always buy even a longer one.

Thanks again!
