Will the long magnet that is in my tranny do any damage? I dont want to change the fluids agian unless I have to. Thanks alot for any help!!!

long one is for the transmission. my short one rarely has anything on it from the motor, but the long transmission one always has a thin film of metallic crap on it.

fyi it can be put in the other way without causing damage though. i had mine reversed by the guy who did my oil change in the beginning, but i just left it in there for 5000 miles

Where do you lot lockwire the drain bolts to, just wondering if drilling one of the cooling fins on the gearbox/engine pan would make it brittle??

as long as the hole is small, i dont think drilling a fin would be a problem. i dont use the lockwire though.

The opposite actually happens for me...I see some metallic film on my engine one but one tranny one is clean as a whistle.
