Default Megan header worth it?

Hey guys ive been looking into buying the megan header after seeing decent gains anywhere from 4 to 9whp with it, but then i saw this thread https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=393909 and realized its the same exact thing as stock... is it just bigger piping? Anybody else have some ideas or dynos or suggestions?

From everything I have read on here it seems to be good for a few hp increase. That thread you linked to is pointless in showing the performance of this header. Being lower .7 lbs of boost and 20 degrees hotter takes away any chance of the dyno being accurate. From my experience with FI 1 lb of boost is usually between 7-10whp. That being .7 lbs lower boost and 20 degree hotter on FI is huge. I would think that the .7 lb less boost would decrease about 5whp or so. The hotter temps would add to this. This header seems to add around 5-10whp or so I have read on this forum. I am looking forward to purchasing a Megan header in the near future.

yeah but i was just showing that thread because he has a picture of the stock header and the megan header side by side and they have the same EXACT design, so im just wondering where does the "power" from the megan header get there? Is the piping size different? And what do you guys think about berks? Ive seen more than 3 people say berks has a nice pickup mid-range but ends up losing power in peak hp.

anybody have any more opinions? I'm kind of torn between the two, I'm worried about the megan since its the same design as stock.

I've seen the Megan go for 300 shipped I believe on here by some vendor. Might be mistaken. For that price and it being shown repeatedly to gain power I would pick one up. A Megan header is in my near future.

well if megan is a mugen replica, then mugen is an oem replica....? if you guys notice in that thread its the same exact design as stock, and I've only seen one dyno where the megan made a power increase but that was also with the test pipe done at the same time.

its obviously not an exact copy of stock. The design is similar i do agree.

Its pretty clear in the photos that the merging collectors are smoother and a more direct angle, additionally arn't the primaries larger in diameter? Some of the bends are also less extreme.

These factors will result in better power production.

only header that makes power:

other parts may be required to get it to function properly
