Default Momo #4930 hub won't fit!

I need help here. I bought a 4930 hub but the opening for wiring is triangular and not centered below shaft. The hole in oem wheel is rectangular and that's what I think the Momo should have. Has anyone else had this problem??? Thanx

I didn't have any problems with mine having the triangle opening. slide one connector at a time and it should work fine

The problem I have is interference with the elect connector. On the 04, the connector sticks out 3/4" or so from the base (6 o'clock pos) of the reel assy. The hub hits the connector long before being seated fully on the splines. I could grind a larger opening but don't think I should have to to make it fit.

One other guy PM'd me with the same problem. I think he said he took the SRS reel out to make it work!! How does the horn and cruise function then?

I have encountered the same problem as OP indicated on my 05

Here are some pictures to show the problem.

This is what the SRS cable reel looks like on my 05.

This is whar the SRS cable reel looks like on 00-03.

As OP described, the cable come out from the reel 04-05 at the six o'clock position is sticking out about 1/4 inch further than the one 00-03 and the momo hub 4930 back is too "swallow" to fit them.

Some suggested to OP that we can take out the reel but I wonder how does the turn signal release work without the reel?

Anyone have any suggestion would be greatly apprecipated.

I ended up having to machine out a rectangular slot similar to oem wheel. I didn't want a slip ring setup for horn and wanted to retain the cruise control. The hole ends up adjoing the little triangular hole the bastards put in there from Momo. Someone at Momo should have caught this by now!!! They've been selling 4930's as the "all" years S2000 hub for 5 years now, WTF!!! I have access to a machine shop, what about all the guys that don't...

BTW, the self cancel is taken care of by the slots in the hub(next to splines) engaging the white plastic ring next to steering shaft, not a function assoc with the spool mechanism. Good luck!

I have the same problem on my AP2. I am pretty sure momo hub part # 4930 will not fit on AP2. I guess I need to get a HKB/Boss hub instead.

Bumping this b/c after plenty of research, albeit not finding this post, I bought this Momo hub boss for my 2006 AP2 and no, it will not fit with the SRS/cruise reel. You will break it if you tighten it down till you reach 39ftlbs of torque and once you get to that point, your steering will be so stiff, you can't really drive the car safely. Luckily I didn't break the reel too much and I'm still able to install my OEM wheel and steering is normal. I just don't know long term.. .

I knew it didn't feel right but I just kept going.. .

Thank you Mr. very unknowledgable sales person I purchased my setup from.. .
