Default Muffler delete?

This may sound stupid, but what is a muffler delete? and is it legal? I saw a video on youtube of this guy's s2k and it said something about a muffler delete. I just liked that sound and was wonder how to do it. Thanks for any help or advice.

A muffler delete is exactly what it sounds like. It simply deletes the mufflers. If you'd like to do it then just take it to an exhaust shop and tell them you want to remove your mufflers. From what i've read you would lose torque since there is less back pressure (correct me if i'm wrong fellas) and considering we have ZERO torque under 6k that alone would stop me from doing it. As far as it being legal that would depend on the what the sound laws are where you live.

I would suggest the "UK exhaust mod" if you're looking for a nice sound on a budget (~$80-100?). It is less invasive and sounds more refined imo. Of course check with your local laws before making any modifications

makes a video of exhaust noises, covers exhaust noises with crappy music, FAIL. +1 on the UK exhaust mod, it sounds really nice and should be comparable in shop cost.

I deleted the mufflers/resonators to start with, didn't sound bad at all and didn't feel like I took a hit with the torque. Put a test pipe in place of the catalytic converter next and there was way to much drone. Finally ended up finding two flowmaster 40's local for cheap and got those put on and love the sound considering they are commonly used on v8s
