There different versions, 2000-03, 2004-09 and the SS version, depends which you saw. I would try searching the forum if you want to see what people think, I've seen plenty of opinion based threads about what they thought of their Mugen exhausts. Also there are clips on youtube that show how it sounds. From what I remember all 3 sounded practically the same, just different form factors.

from pics and threads i've read on the forum, quality of the mugen exhaust (all of them) are top notch. plus you're spending about 2k for one so you would hope they would be amazing in quality

sound, i've read it's a pretty quiet exhaust, with no or very little drone, a lil louder than stock . even on the videos on youtube you can kinda tell that they aren't loud or "ricey" sounding

as for gains, well i guess there's some. but anything bolt on the s does very little, unless you have all bolt ons with a tune

but i only have read these through the forum, i have no experience with their exhausts. i do wish i could get the mugen ss exhaust with the mugen ss rear

The mugen exhaust is the same for ap1 and ap2 excerpt it has different tips and hangers. The sound is louder than stock but not by much also without any drone.

As far as gains go I didn't notice a difference. You really only save weight and it isn't significant enough to register on the butt dyno. The piping is the same size so you don't gain much.

Overall it looks and sounds nice. Which really should matter since the s2000 is so well tuned from the factory. Go single for the best gains.

Mugen exhaust is great quality, sound is definitely louder than stock, but I haven't heard an aftermarket exhaust quieter yet.

There's a tiny bit of drone, but not that much and its at like 2k rpm where no one drives an s2k anyway. It sounds great and has a extremely even tone throughout the rpm range. Doesn't sound ricey at all, but the bullet canisters make it look a juvenile.

There's no power gains on this exhaust...unfortunately this is the reason I don't like mine, but I can't deal with the noise of any other exhaust so I'm screwed. I came from a berk exhaust and I lost a lot of power in the switch. To me its a lightweight version of the stock exhaust with more noise.

The weight savings are decent for a dual since the mufflers are Ti.
