Default Mugen Hardtop Rear Window Peeling...

I have an authentic Mugen FRP hardtop, and have owned it for roughly 5 years. I have never used any chemicals or soap to wash it. I've taken very good care of it and it has only been rinsed with water and the car is always garage kept. Suddenly I noticed some spotting etc and I don't know if this is tint or the plastic lexan default window just wearing. Can any of you chime in on how to fix this or are there real glass windows that you can buy? Here are the pics:

I'm sure other Mugen FRP hardtop owners can chime in on this and let me know if this is normal because all in all a glass window would hands down be better if I have to replace this.

I bought mine used and about 2-3 months later it started cracking and peeling. Turns out whoever installed the window forgot to remove the protective film. Did you make sure to remove the film prior to installation?

It's not a protective film that wasnt peeled off. It has happened to me and a friend of mine both with authentic mugen tops and both original owners. Its a protective clear coat of some sort and with exposure to UV light it just falls apart over time. It'll happen to all of them unless they changed the way they make them. It's kind of like the protective clear film on the headlights that start to haze and fall apart . You can wet sand it with some fine paper to get rid of all of it and then polish the window. Takes an experienced hand but the results are pretty good. You can also order the plexiglass in the right thickness and use the original as a template and cut a piece out. Don't bother ordering one from mugen its $400!!!

So do you know if there are glass replacement drop in windows? That would seem to be the way to go as the rear window would never haze. And it could be washed w soap etc unlike the pain in the rear mugen window. Any ideas?

There is a tempered glass replacement for a replica mugen top. It should fit the original mugen top as well.

These guys sell the whole install kit: latches, bolts, rear window seals and rear glass in one kit. See if you can get the glass only.

I've also heard these guys can do it for around $280 just give them a call

Good lord King Motorsports wants $490 for the same tinted back window... maybe I will do it once my car gets a garage (in 2 months).

VIS sells a glass window for their replica top. It's like $250.

BTW that can be wet sanded and polished properly and it'll look brand new.
