Mugen SS Wing on track without trunk bracing
Does anyone run the Mugen SS Wing on track without trunk bracing? I'm planning to start doing track days soon, but I'm worried about the wing warping the trunk at 100+ mph speeds.
If it produces any reasonable amount of downforce and bolts to the trunk it will bend the trunk
I have not looked at the specs of the Mugen but the APR GTC200 bent my trunk day 1. Luckily I had purchased as spare trunk for the wing so my original one is up on a shelf. I bent it back some and added the CR bracing and a few other rubber stoppers to help but I think it still bent it just a tad more since then. I just live with it. If it produces less downforce or has more spread out mounting points it may not but I would brace it.

Mugen SS wing utilizes the stock mounting points. I did not use any additional bracing on mine. Mine is on a spare trunk as well, but no issue with bending. Suppose it depends on the track you're running on and what speeds can be achieved. Track I frequented could only hit 110mph or so and only briefly on two straights.
