Default Trunk bracing with wing

hey guys. i was wondering how do you brace the trunk so it doesnt warp?

i got a gt wing on my trunk and am afraid that after a couple track events or after a period of time the downforce will warp my trunk lid.

just place the wing supports along the edge where the structural ribs are on the trunk lid. if you got a wing that puts the wing smack in the middle of the lid - no good.

I've been thinking about this myself. Aerodynamically, that's a bad place to stick the struts. But aerodynamics often have to be balanced by structural concerns. I'm not sure if there is a better way, but it might be better to reinforce the trunk in the middle and mount the wing there. The extra weight might be worth it.

This is the kind of question that CFD is good for.

or do what krazy did and take a chainsaw to the lid and mount the wing to the floor of the trunk

It's a lot simpler if you don't need a functioning trunk lid.
