I never used any type of sealant on my Mugen hardtop and it's never leaked. Maybe I was supposed to but the instructions were pretty clear.

no leaks here with no tar stuff.. slip the string in, have one person push and one person pull. It gets pretty hard to do towards the end.

are you referring to a authentic mugen type install kit? because i don't know of any 'string'.

yeah, I have a Mugen top. to install the rear window you install the window into the rubber seal, then you run the supplied string all the way around pressing it down into the lip that will attach to the hardtop. while one person applies pressure from above, another person will slowly pull the string bringing the rubber lip top the inside of the hardtop, creating a seal. As this seal continues around the window, the person applying pressure should follow where you are until the entire thing is complete. It's even illustrated in the Japanese only instruction manual. This all applies unless we are talking about some other Mugen "style" window I don't know about. you are talking about for the hardtop like in my sig right?

You cant do this with the replica hardtops. They dont use the same type of seal.
