you can also tell by the corner which meets with the front door/quarter panel, the real ones are sharp edged and straight where as the replicas kind of round off at that point, hard to explain but if you compare the both, you will know what i mean.

It's real; listed at $6955. You were looking at fiberglass for ~$3.3k

As mentioned, for $1800 if it is real then that is one hell of a deal! The inside gel coating & design is one clear indication as well as the OEM seals & hardware used along with the badge. The rear window is also slightly tinted & can be easily identified from the fakes along with the seal. Fitment should be perfect, nothing less.

What would be cool is if there was a sticky with all the authentic Mugen badges # matching with the corresponding owners here on S2Ki. Would be a great way to track the history of a top & verify authenticity. Mods, what you think?

in a world of counterfeits, anyone claiming to be selling an authentic unfortunately has the burden of proof, especially with selling a mugen the badge is right there and obvious, failure to show that is pure deceipt by somebody trying to pass off a copy for a higher price. post the pics here for everybody to see.

This does not mean its real or replica

Here is 1 of my 2x2 double sided with the same corner

And yes, 1x1 hardtops are also out there.

As far as the price for a real Mugen top, I think its to cheap but without OEM hardware I believe someone who needs money will let it go for a dirt cheap price.
