Default My X Brace Review

Well I bought an X brace because I was looking for a little more stiffer cornering and for all those people who said it doesn't do anything well they are wrong, I took alot of hard turns and let me tell you I took the same turn i always take when going to work and i notice that the rear end slid out a little and i was like wtf? It really does stiffen the front, the straight line driveability is pretty much the same but noticed less bumps just like an x-brace would do. I'm debating or not if I should remove this after a couple of weeks and sell it because I miss being able to take highway off ramps fast without my rear end coming out but this x brace really does make your front end stiffen up the front. As for install it was a pita because I tightned some bolts and was suppose to only lightly tightend as you go like about a thread each bolt then once in place then tighten all. So far I am somewhat happy with it as it works but it seems to make it fish tail happy alot more. If you have any questions let me know. Anyone with solutions for the fish tail, thanks.

Blinker fluid?

Nice little write-up... thanks for the input!

I drive an MY05, so ya.. AP2 also, and I used to have a Spoon Xbrace, and didn't notice a rear-end sliding out effect... it just made my suspension feel more precise, and less mushy... sorta flattened out all 4 corners for me when going through a corner.. also diving into turns, and tearing outta them.. felt more planted.. like my chassis feels just more square while cornering... not washy.

Dunno.. to each his own.. I liked mine, but decided to sell it, and put on my own custom one instead Even ran it on a thermal imaging stress bench tester at the office, to make revisions for a more stiffer setup...

it worked

Holler at ya boy..

Good luck man.. hope you like it!

I agree. I have the Rick's X-brace and noticed a difference immediately in the first corner, much like when I put subframe connectors on my Mustang. You notice the car feels much more solid and can much more easily push the car to the limits of the tire's adhesion.

i agree with garrison. stiffening the front of the car will not cause oversteer it will cause understeer.

this was a driver issue.

so should I invest in a lower x brace, or just a front sway, I am still finding a shop that will let me input my own alignment specs but it's hard as no one wants to, but I don't understand why I don't have to upgrade the rear sway if i do the front though, any recommendations on front sways?

the reason you dont really need to upgrade the rear is you are RWD. you want more rear imput...throttle out. the only reason youd really need one is if you hav enough front travel to pick up the inside rear tire around a corner
