Thumbs up MY01 mods

Alright i really wanna do more to my S. So far all i have is the FIPK intake, ebiach ground control, and some exterior accessories. I wanna do the exhaust header and test pipe and i was thinking the skunk2 or the greddy ti-c and the PLM header and test pipe. I'm not going to be able to do that till college and i am gonna be a senior in high school starting tomorrow. My questions to you guys is what can i do to my car to gain some hp or better feel or anything to benefit me?

I'm sure you'll say search but i just don't know what to search for.

Check out the NA forum. Has info on all the bolt on breather mods. In short you really won't gain much horsepower NA especially if on a budget.

^+1

Decide on how much power you want, and save through school if you can, and either go FI for big gains, or bolt on to basically make the car a little more rev happy. Gears I hear are the best bang for your buck, but they have their pitfalls.

Its all about your budget, you gotta do research and explore your options.

You best bet is keep it clean, make sure it runs well, save your money and jump on some deals on the forums when you see something you want pop up, but you gotta have a plan.

Because the S2000 comes tuned so well from the factory, you really need FI for good power gains.

define good power gain?? some people good power gains are different then another. i dont see any reason why you can gain 15-20whp with a single 70mm exhaust, and pair with a 70mm test pipe with an intake. good sound, not alot of drone, and defintley improved power over stock.

if your looiking for midrange then thats where a header and tuning is going to come in. that also makes a good difference.

^ I've seen alot of people range from 15-30whp with full bolt on's and a very good tune. Thats about all you will get, and its very expensive. To get a good 20-30whp out of the s2000, you will be over halfway to FI already. '

To the OP, if you want just a little extra kick, get a 70 or 75mm single (the new HKS is good, not much drone) keep your intake, get a PLM header and a test pipe and you will be good.

Its my dad he doesn't want the car to sound really loud like a ricer while he is still driving it. So when i go away for college ill do all that stuff.

I want some real power gains around 400+, that would make me happy, so i guess FI is the only way to go, but that means big $$$. I was looking at the stage 1 inline pro and that looks like it would make the power i want, but i think ill try to get something used a bit.

But in the mean time till i get that kind of money, i was asking for maybe something to get some more power without breaking the bank, like under 500.

Yeah you will have to go FI to get that kind of power. If you really do plan on doing that, dont get something that you will have to replace when you go turbo. The HKS 75mm will be a very good exhaust for a turbo application, so you wouldnt have to replace that. Plus it will help a little for NA, and isn't to much either. Also, don't get a header because you will not see much gains without some kind of tune, plus they are expensive and will replace it when you go FI.

So my opinion, for a little extra kick get the HKS 75mm exhaust. It will be good for NA or FI, win-win situation there. The exhaust doesnt drone much from what i've heard, and it sounds nice, not ricey.
