Well you have localized fatigue on the contact patch that was created between the OEM "ball" style and the aftermarket "acorn" lug. You can't see the fatigue but it's definitely there. Sooner or later that patch will give way and something will happen to you.

What are you referring to? The actual Lug nut seat in the wheel? Ive looked and the nut seems to be seating flush in the wheel...

do you see a "ring" on the aftermarket lugnut acorn seat?

All I'm saying along with other people is aftermarket lugs are not to be put on OEM wheels. Up to you if you want to risk the damage to wheel, lugnut, or even possibly your life.

Yeah what you are doing Chazz is a really bad idea. I use to sell wheels and lugs during my college years for a store and I can tell you that good things do not come from running the wrong lugs. Sounds to me you have been fairly lucky running this set-up

What you are getting is some point contact between the lug and the lug seat. Not a nice engagement between the two seats. The reason you aren't seeing any problems yet is because the wheels are hub centric so most of the alignment comes from that not the lugs.

"Looking" at how flush or not the lugs sit is ZERO indication of a proper seat... What you can do is take a sharpie marker and color either the seat in the wheel or the lug itself up and install the lug to spec then remove. I think you will find you are not making a lot of contact. And the contact you are making is forcing stress into the lug seat in a radial direction.

Your car your choice, but I would NEVER run a set-up like that, I have seen what it can do...

Do you know if these lugs will work with the rpf1s?

If not could you give me a few examples you know if these fitting?

thanks again
Hey there,

Sorry for the late reply.

These wheel nuts will work with Enkei wheels. The RPF-1 that you are asking about will be compatible with these wheel nuts. As well as Volks, Gramlights, Work wheels, etc. Those are just a name of a few brands.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Regards,

Jason @ AJR

Hey guys. Will it be safe to run the aftermarket lugs on the aftemarket rims after they were used on the OEM rims? The guy Ibought my rims from mangae to run lugs on both set of rim Volks and OEMs..
I can clearly see the "ring" on the aftermarket lugnut.. Thanks!
