Arrow new hardtop what to do with softtop?

hello new to s2ki but my hardtops coming in next week and planning to install myself.

history: my soft top has a repaired slash(still can see it and the back of the top leaks.

has anyone just flatout removed their softtop out of their s2k? is this possible also would save some weight not that its a major concern....just dont see myself really using the softtop much more when this is installed.

remove the top/frame/motors completely and save yourself some weight, that's what the CR's have (no softtop)...

or, just leave the thing down and put some sort of tonneau top on to cover it up, out of sight out of mind until you decide to replace the softtop...

or you can burn it... just make sure it's not in the car when you do it.

sell it for patches. tons of people will want patches.

also CR's ahve soft tops. they just ahve manual ones. id be tempted to get that rear body brace that the CR has that requires a manual soft top or atleast no motors to get it to fit.

Okay...a few things to set straight from what I've read so far:

As stated above, CR's do NOT have softtops. They have a cover that goes over the area where a "standard" s2000 has it's softtop. That cover only works when there is no softtop in that space.

With an OEM hardtop in place, you cannot use the OEM tonneau cover unless you cut it and modify it.

As for the original question, it all really depends on what you want to do. Personally, I left my top there under my OEM hardtop in the offchance that I'll need it when I'm parked somewhere. Now it's been almost 3 years since I've had this hardtop and it's been off the car a total of 4 hours, so that's not saying much. But I like having the option to do so.

If you do choose to remove it, remove the motors as well and you can save some weight...upwards of 50lbs. The OEM hardtop is roughly 45lbs.
