hello new to s2ki but my hardtops coming in next week and planning to install myself.

history: my soft top has a repaired slash(still can see it and the back of the top leaks.

has anyone just flatout removed their softtop out of their s2k? is this possible also would save some weight not that its a major concern....just dont see myself really using the softtop much more when this is installed.

Lots of people have removed their soft top. I did and I would do it again. I never used it anyway and the weight savings was nice. I removed the soft top, frame, motors, and associated trim work.

also CR's ahve soft tops. they just ahve manual ones. id be tempted to get that rear body brace that the CR has that requires a manual soft top or atleast no motors to get it to fit.

The weght gains are good, but it'll be a PITA if/when you come to sell the car.

I swapped a CF hardtop for the soft top on my miata and didn't miss it. The S has a great top - best to leave it as it is.
