Default New Hid's

I'm thinkin about changing my Hid's for a different color temp. It seems like the headlights that came in my 00 where brighter or whiter than whats in my 05. Is this right or am I imagining it. Has anyone else changed theirs? I want mine to look like the color of the LS 430 or the TL. They have a slight blueish or purpleish tinge. And i noticed tonight when i was driving beside a LS that the light output on the road was much whiter and brighter than what my S was putting out.

Stock hid's are the brightest available. Any other ones will give more color but less light output.

Keep current HID bulbs, they look different because of different projectors.

Non of factory equipped cars use anything higher than 4300k.

4300k is the optimum output.

I know that 4300 is the optimum as far as light output but why does the Lexus LS headlight look so much whiter than ours? Is it just a different brand of bulb or is it the projector or both? My boss' maxima has a much brighter looking output on the road as well. why?

Changing bulbs won't make the difference you're looking for.

going higher than 4300 will only make it more blue.

Lexus may be using D4S bulbs which have higher output = whiter look
