As an update, I was able to get a new key and had it programed by Ace Hardware. They charged $89 for the key and programming service. I initially tried Lowes Hardware, but they could not do it.

The ap2 key with the sliver logo is the expensive one.
Yes, AP1 blanks are different from AP2 blanks and cut differently. Regardless of AP1 or AP2, the blank is either a fixed transponder or a programmable transponder. A fixed transponder requires programming to the ECU - either by a dealer, locksmith, or DIY via the Autel AP200 (the old CK-100 programmer method is more expensive and outdated). A programmable transponder is done by locksmith only, and clones the transponder of a working key to the new duplicate.

Cheapest way is to buy the correct fixed transponder blank, have it cut locally, program it via the Autel AP200 ($50-60 on Amazon - be sure to buy the white one, not the red one AP2500), and keep the AP200 for future diagnostics.
