I took this picture from EBay for reference:
The mounting bolts at the top of the coilovers. One of the bolts actually broke off causing a lot of play in the coilover. I could reach behind my wheel while my car was on the ground and actually wiggle the coilover from side to side. This caused alignement issues, noise while driving, and an occasional loud thud noise while starting to go in reverse from a stop.
I havent looked at NEX for a long time (been about 6 years), and mine did actually look different. Mine were a different color, and maybe its just the color change. But they could of changed a lot more, i.e.- the materials used, quality, etc. I dont know.
As I said, I had the bolt mounting part welded back on, and I rode like that for about 3 weeks before moving on to the next type of coilovers to come on the market for the 7th gen civic which happened to be TEIN SS Coilovers. I realize that TEIN's arent necessarily highly recommended here at S2ki, but for the 01 Civic, they were fantastic at the time. Absolutely a step above the NEX coilovers.
No, I didnt track the car while I had the NEX coilovers. I was to scared of breaking them again. Prior to the break I did just city driving as well. The roads werent bad either...I lived in Santa Cruz, CA at the time.
Pictures of my car cause I miss it (one of 5 people in the country at the time with the swap done...according to HASport atleast):

Thanks man.
Too bad a drunk driver decided it was a good idea to put her miata into the rear end of that car about a day after that picture was taken. At least I got a few nice pictures before it was totalled.
Easy come easy go I guess.
Anyway, back on topic...

look just like the omni/ksport/d2/stance/form and function taiwanese stuff.
it take a big sum of money to develop something from nothing, r&d, design, engineering, mfg, etc. not sure i would bet my money on small company when it comes to car suspension
