Default Nitrous Question

I have a question regarding nitrous and heat. I removed the aero screen from my car and thought that would be a great place to mount a nitrous bottle. I've read some threads saying a bottle in the sun isn't a huge concern but others say different. I can't imagine it would get a lot hotter there than in the trunk since I wouldn't be leaving the top down with the car stationary. It's more for show purposes I probably won't spray that often just want to make sure the bottle isn't going to explode or anything.

Came across that thread earlier. Was one of the reasons I posted this thread. One said it would be fine with a "bottle blanket" but like I said nothing was really conclusive. I have experience with nitrous just not with mounting it outside of the trunk. If it's not safe it's not safe just figured the area would be perfect.

Nitrous bottles and heat get along quite well actually. That's what bottle heaters do, heat the bottle to raise the pressure. The problem comes with drastic heat. Just install a dump tube on your bottle and you can leave your bottle in your car all you want with no issue. Just don't be dumb and leave a sealed bottle in the car on a 100+ degree day.

If you some how mount your bottle where the aero screen was, you are only exposing it to more sunlight opposed to having the trunk shielding the sun's rays. Your rear glass will increase the temperature the sun is already shining. Would I want a nitrous bottle in the cabin? No, too much of a risk for "show" why not remove your spare tire and then just build a bracket for the bottle there?

Just throw it in the trunk and call it a day. Here's my old set up, I live in Texas so having it there exposed to the sun wasn't a good idea. It's also attracts too much attention from cops and thiefs. It does look cool though.

Thats EXACLY what I was looking for. I'll still toy around with moving it elsewhere but I do love the way it looks there.

Does look cool, check the rating of the bottle but the pressure should be pretty high, could always have some form of pressure sensor so if it reaches too high it vents?
