Default Non-oem hardtop question

Whats the quality and hows fitment of non-oem hardtop. Im not talking about the Mugen one either. I was looking online and found CWest muegen replica style (so it looks) made of fiberglass and weights 22lbs. To get glass and mounting kits its like 2000 shipped.

Heres a link for anyone to see. Reason i ask is because i can have it pained professionally for under 150 dollars. And from honda oem hardtop with my friends honda discount is 3400 shipped there.

I searched the sticky of hardtop info but no one really talked about quality or fitment of the non-oem or non-mugen.

I don't have experience with non-OEM hardtops, but I just want to chime in on your friend's "hook up" price.

Many people have gotten the OEM unit brand new from $2600-3000 shipped. I personally got mine from Hardtopguy for $2975 a few months ago. A few dealers actually buy from him too. $3499 is the MSRP for the hardtop at most dealers, but you obviously don't buy stuff like that from a dealer.

I purchased a ViS Carbon Fiber Mugen Replica hard top. I was VERY happy with the purchase, although it did cost me $3,500 for it, not including shipping. I would highly not recommend skimping on your hard top! Especially if you intend on using it. Ive seen a few eBay deals and there just that, good deals, shitty quality. No matter how good the pictures look, also make sure its a REAL CWest hard top and not a replica made in some backyard factory(especially for the mounts!).

Thanks for the info about the price there. And thanks for thoughts on the cheap quality ones. Looks like ill look around for someone selling on east coast used or get a new one in a few months.
