Default OEM Exhaust Mod

Just saw this video on youtube, and I'm really liking how it sounds. Anyone else performed this mod? Curious to hear some real world experiences with it.

That's actually pretty sweet, I think I'm gonna have to try it at some point.

Anybody have any costs on this? Seems like the muffler shop would have to take the exhaust down to do it which could increase costs.

I've also had my resonator removed a while ago. Does anybody know how it would sound with the resonator removed as well?

Are you referring to the helhomz resonator (the pipe looking protrusion from the exhaust) or the midpipe resonator? (the big boxy looking resonator inline with the OEM exhaust). I found this video, but it's of a guy who removed the midpipe resonator.

Can't imagine it would cost more than $100 or so to do. I currently have a magnaflow catback on my car, but it's too loud for my taste. I'm thinking of hauling over my OEM exhaust to a local muffler shop and having them weld in a 38mm piece and swap it in in place of my current set up.

I did this a few months ago.

They recommend to weld a 28mm but my local exhaust shop didn't have anything smaller than 1.5 inches which is about 38 mm.

They charged me 60 and took about an hour to finish, but I did take them the exhaust by itself.

At idle there is minimal change. But above 3.5 k the exhaust does sound more deeper.
There is drone or raspyness what so ever, but I do have a HFC.

I'll be testing it how it sounds with a test pipe in a few days.

For 60 bucks I do have to say its well worth it for those that just want to make the exhaust note a little more sporty/deeper without dreaded drone and bleeding ears.

The midpipe resonator. Thanks for the video. Sounds too raspy for my taste.

I plan to buy 28mm stainless steel piping and attempt this mod. My stock exhaust is not on the car, anyway, so it should only be the cost of welding from a muffler shop.

I read the entire UK Exhaust Mod thread, and it seems to be a great way to get a small increase in sound without any drone, exactly what I have been looking for.
