OEM Hardtop Identification
Hey team,
My search skills are coming up a bit short, so apologies for not finding a definitive answer already…if I have earned a beating, I understand.
With that out of the way….
How can I identify if a purported hardtop is actually OEM and not a reproduction? I understand Forbidden did an OEM clone and some others may have as well. What is the dead giveaway that a top is indeed Honda OEM? Is there specific location of logo/part number?
Thanks in advance, all!

Yup, material build and often glass. If I am not mistaken, replica hardtops can also support OEM glass, but that's probably not what most people go with. The dead give away is usually give the HT a knock to see what it's built out of.
can you tell me more about the vakari one? I am currently in the market for an OEM ideally and possibly Mugen if OEM cannot be sourced.

things to look for
oem = aluminum + glass with defrost. hopefully has oem mounting hardware.
trying to pass an aftermarket oem style hardtop as original ; one would need to source the headliner, plastic side panels, grommets and seals. $$$$
