Default OEM pistons

I've been talking back and forth with a Honda engineer, he dropped an interesting little tidbit regarding the availability of Oem pistons.

"OEM pistons are no longer in any Honda warehouse according to my sources in Japan. There is a S2000 tuner in Yokohama but even he says he hasn’t those particular pistons in years."

So now our only option is Mahle gold series frm pistons.

InlinePro also has FRM friendly pistons, however, they are made by order.

Most people that rebuild these motors don't use oem pistons due to the issues associated with working with frm cylinders. Most seem to sleeve the block and pair it with an oem sized piston.

There are very few instances where a piston would need to be replaced and didn't cause any damage to the cylinder walls.

Parts are becoming scarce for these cars, especially ap1 models. Shortblock, lip, eps module, carpet and a few other parts have been unavailable for years now.

I have a spare block laying around that I've been "tinkering" with, I have someone that could repair the slightly oval bores, bored and honed with deck plate and used the proper non-ferrous stones(surprisingly smooth, had to look really close to see the cross-hatching). Now I just gotta pony up for these pistons that might as well be made out of blood diamonds. But I'll finally have my dream of having a freshly rebuilt oversize block. I hope Mahle's rings are as good as OEM.

99% of the times people just resleeve the block with iron sleeves and just run standard forged pistons.

Well the block is good to go, just missing pistons, all the head work's been done and it's been bored and honed. So once I get some spare kidneys to sell I guess I'll be getting these Mahle pistons.
