OEM Wide Fender Comparison

OEM Wide Fender Comparison
I'm shopping for an OEM wide fender. I know a lot of you guys have the Downforce fenders but does anyone have any experience with VIS fenders? They're almost $200 cheaper so I'm wondering if the fitment and/or quality reflects the price difference or if they're just as good. Thanks.

I don't have any experience with the VIS fenders, but i do with the Downforce. With only a $200 difference, i'd go with downforce since VIS doesn't have a great track record when it comes to awesome fitting parts (or quality parts for that matter). The downforce fenders are great quality and are known to fit perfectly.
I also like the shape of the downforce fenders better. The VIS fenders have bulge out dramatically that looks awkward to me, while the downforce are much more gradual.

I have Downforce FRP fenders installed on my car and they fit well. I would buy Downforce fenders again if I had to (hopefully not). I can't speak for the VIS fenders, but the Downforce have reinforced "ribs" integrated on the insides. They are pretty rigid once installed, and the fender liners can be mounted to them as well. I especially like the fact that they are very similar to OEM, only wider. Many s2k owners don't even notice that they are wider. Quality pieces for sure.

they actually stopped producing them with the ribs because it would show on the outside of the fenders. But anyhow, downforce quality is very high. OP, just search 'downforce quality' and you should see plenty of praise.

Interesting, I notice the ribs showing through the fenders on foggy days when moisture builds up on them, but I did not know they changed the design. Learned something new today. Buy with confidence OP, you won't be disappointed.
