Oil coolers
Does anyone have any good recommendations for oil coolers with supercharged cars pushing around 600bhp please? Struggling a little bit with keeping oil temps between 110-120C.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Something to keep in mind about the stock oil cooler. Its also an oil heater.
This is very important for street cars. Faster the oil is warmed, less it wears. Oil below operating temp is a significant wear issue, especially for cylinders.
Stock oil cooler uses radiator coolant to cool oil. Which means initially, since coolant warms much faster than oil, it actually helps warm the oil.
Replacing stock oil cooler w aftermarket on a street car is thus a bad idea. Especially if driven regularly.
Not saying that is situation in this post, but useful knowledge others following tbread might want to know.

Some say the first few minutes of a car warming up from overnight cold is when much engine wear happens. Before the oil and engine reach operating temperature. These people believe frequent stops and starts cause more wear than extended high engine speeds over a long period — provided the oil pressure and water cooling are good.
You need to provide more info to get any valuable help. There's also such a thing as too much cooling which can be an issue. Any recommendation at this point is just throwing parts at it based on speculation.
