Default Oil pressure gauge problem

Just put in a digital pressure gauge. Gauge works great but either the sender is off or the gauge

I tapped it off a sandwich plate

At idle 20pai. At 3k 90 psi

Suggestions on where to check

Seems normal PSI.

Once I get to 4 my gauge goes to high and stops reading

The gauge is 0-100

What is the range of the gauge? I have seen some cars run higher than 90 psi, but the numbers you mention in the original post seem good.
Mine is at 81 psi on cold start and after it warms up it idles around 15 psi. Cruising at 80 mph, it is usually between 80 and 86.

Once it gets over 100 its easy for it to switch to high. The gauge is only 15-100

Cool gauge though just wish it was more accurate above

I doubt there's anything to check. Those readings seem normal to me. You've never had an actual oil pressure gauge, have you? Depending on the temperature of the oil (whether it's right after a cold start or if the engine is well into its operating temp.), max pressure can be reached at relatively low rpm. 90 psi is pretty normal for cold to cool oil pressure. 75 to 80 psi is fairly normal for hot oil pressure at its max. Once it reaches its maximum pressure, it's not going to get any higher just because you increase rpm. You will never see 100 psi on this car unless there is something serious wrong. 95 psi is about the highest you'll ever see and that's after a cold start, after the car sits outside overnight at -40 degrees and you immediately start driving down the road.

OK, so when and where did it register 90 psi at 3K?

I'm guessing the oil was still cold for pressure to reach 90 at 3K.
