Default Ok, So what is the quietest...

Everyone talks about this exhaust or that being louder, better, sexier, more powerful, etc...

What is the quietest exhaust system available for the S2k?

Stock exhaust is the quietest exhaust. You can buy an inline silencer made by any overseas one stop muffler shop $12 - $37 on ebay if its not quiet enough for you. Why youd do this IDK. Hell my 2004 stock S2000 floored at 8k the motor is louder than the exhaust it seems from in the car.

Just stick with your oem exhaust if you want quiet. If your looking for aftermarket, probably something from Tanabe.

Magnaflow is also not too loud. If you want a bit more sound, have the main resonator cut out of your stock system. It's louder but not nearly as loud as most aftermarket systems.

if you just have resonator removed, is it just louder and noisier but not in tune? How does it even sound like?

On startup, it's a little bit raspy. Once the car is fully warmed up, it's got a bit of extra throatiness and growl and it definitely has a bit of a snarl up top. I have a K&N intake and between the two of them, the car sounds fabulous but not overly loud. It's nowhere near as loud as aftermarket systems in general.

Just cruising, you don't really hear the exhaust (tire noise is much louder). Once you hit the throttle, though, it's noticeable. You can actually hear the car at idle, as well. There's no "farty" sounds or anything like that. I think it sounds like it should have, stock.

oh cool. sometime later I might get a brand new set of exhaust tips since mine is damaged quite badly. I may let them remove the resonator at the same time.
