Default password jdm intake

what sup guys so it was my birthday on the 16th and i spent all my money on a password jdm intake and a test pipe.the test pipe is a invidia 70mm and it went on no problem and it hasn't thrown a cel yet. it sounds awesome and im very happy with it. Name: allforsosa245_zps2aa0806e.jpg

so now lets move onto the PWJDM intake. it took about 2 weeks to get here and when it got here i instantly started the install with my dad.Name: allforsosa256_zps2dd4a8bb.jpg

Size: 106.0 KBso the actual intake went on with no problems but then we got to the part of putting on the snorkel and the power camber. it went on and i couldn't wait to drive away but then the hood wouldn't close. so we adjusted the hood latch and it fit but it left me with a little gap on the left side. im very dissapointed in PWJDM because they said it would fit with no hood cutting or adjustments required.apart from the gap it sounds awesome and i can definantly tell the power increase and throttle response.here so of the pics of it on and the gap.Name: allforsosa280_zps66abdbf7.jpg

One thing I've read that may help is loosening all the bolts, getting it into an optimal position, then re-tightening the bolts while someone holds the intake in that position.

I run this intake and love it. But getting a good fit is a bitch. Loose n tighten, tighten loosen and you can get close. As previously noted loosen the screws (snorkel) and try a variety of positions. The key is to pin the snorkel flat with one hand while tightening the mounting bolts. You can then adjust the hood latch by loosening the mounting bracket and adjusting it up a hair. These two points should get you as good as you can get it. Also don't slam the hood or you'll have a bunch of fiber mat. Many have destroyed this work of art by letting a mechanic or friend drop the hood. Once adjusted you have the best intake on the market(IMHO)........and I have tried many.

Just cut out the hood and be done. No gaps. I did this with a Dremel tool with the hood still on the car. This was to clear for my Mugen airbox but the same will work for the PWJDM.

What about the hood prop? Does it have to be removed and replaced with hood shocks?

you have to remove the hood prop and you can replace it with hood shocks but i just keep the hood prop in the back off the car and then whenver i need it to stay open i get it and put it in

Thanks OMGas2k. I'm intrigued by the design. Looks very neat. I think I've found the intake I'm getting now. Thanks for the info.

cheers
