Default Pivot ball stuck in side the shifter assembly

Hey guys yesterday I was re-greasing my shifter, and as I was putting everything back, my shifter wasn't sliding back in with ease so i test fitted it without the spring and it went in easily, but as i pulled it out the plastic pivot piece didn't come back out with the lever, so it was stuck down there in place without the metal ball inside it, i'm not to sure on how to remove it, but I put the assembly back and screwed it shut and now my car shifts gears but the shifter is wobbly because the metal ball isnt inside the plastic pivot but its resting on top of it.
Any idea on how to fix this ?

Only way to fix it is to remove the plastic piece. If it is jammed in there, you may have to break it apart to get it out. First try to pry it out with a long screwdriver or pick. If that doesn't work, best bet would be to put the edge of a flathead inbetween notches and hit it with a hammer. Once it is cracked into a few pieces, it should be fairly easy to dig out with a pick. Make sure to track down a new pivot ball before doing this.

I will be shocked, SHOCKED, if the dealer doesn't claim your car needs $1500+ worth of repairs...

Dont you love it when people get themselves into stupid situations and then ask for help, and when someone trys to help them they completely ignore your answer like you're in debt to them. Under lining the response, some people are just so entitled... Op I hope the stealership takes you to pound town lmao.
