Default Planning the build! E85 and itbs

Hey everyone,

Recently picked up my first s2000 and after spending some time with it,I have gotten to know its areas of improvement (in my eyes atleast, and there are certainly not many!) I am starting to plan a list of modifications after bringing the car up to my own personal maintenance specs, and feel it is ready to be modified. I am going for a street build that will see the track occasionally, with functionality and reliability key. Here is my short list so far (in order of how I would like to pursue them)

1. RPF1s-17x10 et38 with 255/40 r compounds
-I have taken a look at the forums massive amount of information for rpf1s, including what is needed to make these fit!

2. Kw v2 coilovers and camber plates
-and a proper alignment to tie everything together. thinking of -3 degrees of camber all around, roughly 6 degrees of caster with a bit of toe-in in the rear?

3. Swaybars? Any recommendations

4. Upgraded brake pads (preferably ceramic), and S.S. lines? once again, any recommendations?

5. 70mm test pipe with cel delete and Invidia n1 dual
-not for everyone but I personally like it

6. Rollbar! any recommendations for a bolt in?

Now at this point my list was complete, however I came across a set of obx itbs for a steal that included 480cc injectors, race fuel rail, vacuum box, internal manifold gaskets, tps, etc. The only thing i need is an ecu and a custom throttle linkage bracket. I would like to add tempura strainers and a hondata manifold heat shield.

Now i also stumble upon a steal on a aem v1 that already as an e85 map on it

After doing some digging it appears the cars line can handle e85, but its recommended to replace the paper filter with a metal screen version, as well as bump up injectors to something like F1C1100s with new seals and PnP clips.

What are everyone's thoughts on this. I am not interested in chasing hp numbers and would eventually like to lose some weight with the car too (hardtop). I am more of an opportunist and think itb would bring out alot from the f20.

Running R compounds on a street build seems like it would be an unwise choice.

Personally I say hold off on sway bars. I don't know how much you have tracked your car but I think factory balance of over steer and under steer is perfect. So I wouldn't touch them unless you start to feel like your specific car needs them changed once you have done other suspension upgrades. Then I also don't care for ITBs but to each their own. I suggest doing some research on building a 3.5" cold air I love mine and I know some people have made serious power with it after a tune. Everything else you listed I have done or plan to do. Just remember it's your car so do what you like and what you want I love to make a car unique and to do the less common mods that's just me though.

They don't fit on a stock bodied S2000. You would need wider front fenders and rear over fenders. I run 17x10 +35 all around and there was no way they fit on OEM fenders.

2. Kw v2 coilovers and camber plates
-and a proper alignment to tie everything together. thinking of -3 degrees of camber all around, roughly 6 degrees of caster with a bit of toe-in in the rear?
This car does not need camber plates. Further if you are running Rcomps you should probably be looking at the V3 KW's since it sounds like you are building a more track focused car. The V2 from my understanding is a very street oriented coilover.

3. Swaybars? Any recommendations
Eibach if you really want sway bars but I would do other things first before messing with these.

4. Upgraded brake pads (preferably ceramic), and S.S. lines? once again, any recommendations?
SOS, Goodridge, Stoptech etc for the brake lines. Pads are you looking for a track pad? Street pad? Be more specific since it really depends what you are looking to do with the car. Many people run different pads on the street than the track.

5. 70mm test pipe with cel delete and Invidia n1 dual

Junk exhaust that it super loud and drones. I guess you like to hate your ears so go for it.

6. Rollbar! any recommendations for a bolt in?
Harddog or rockstar both make bolt in true roll bars. You do have to modify or remove some interior parts.

As for the ITB's I think you may have bitten off more than you expected. They are not just a bolt on and go kind of affair. Further tuning them correctly isn't easy. This is a really good thread on an ITB build with tons of info.
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/107...-build-thread/

The map on the AEM won't work. You need to have it tuned to the ITB's.

Good luck. I would suggest slowing down and doing a lot more research before you keep throwing parts at the car. Buying the right thing once is always cheaper and better than buying things numerous times. Trust me I have made that mistake to many times.
